Finn Moore
Finn Moore is a full-tuition scholar at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston Massachusetts where he acts as concertmaster for their orchestra and regularly solos with top string ensembles within the school. He’s played violin nearly his entire life, from age five, and since then has had experience in a variety of chamber music and orchestral ensembles, playing repertoire from a variety of countries and eras, gaining a strong sense for sight-reading and interpreting violin parts in orchestral and chamber music, as well as a successful career in a diverse selection of pit orchestras. At Berklee, he’s begun to add to his classical experience by dabbling in alternate and contemporary styles of the violin under his mentor the great jazz violinist Jason Anick. Finn is no stranger to violin instruction. In his teaching, Finn firmly believes that every lesson should feel worthwhile, and puts an emphasis on goal-setting and achieving in his plans. He strives to produce pupils that not only learn music and individual pieces but learn their way around their instrument, until making music with the violin comes as naturally as singing. He is well-versed in many styles of violin, from Irish and Cape Breton style fiddle to Roma style jazz, but has a firm classical upbringing and teaches classically correct and practical technique in his beginner classes.
