Mayah Asuncion

Mayah Asuncion is a 15-year-old violinist who lives in Plainview, New York. Sustaining a lifelong passion for music, she has been playing violin for eight years and teaching violin for three years. She currently attends Plainview Old-Bethpage JFK High School as a 10th grader and is concertmaster in the orchestra. She has provided musical arrangements for the school’s chamber, string, and symphonic orchestras. She enjoys composing and arranging music, playing video games, and learning about music theory. A solid curriculum based on consistent practice routines and individualized goals will be provided for each of Mayah’s students. Topics such as wrist exercises and producing sound on the instrument will be covered in the first lessons. Learning experiential practice methods and basic music theory will assist in reaching the students’ end goal by the twelfth week, which is to learn and perform a piece of music.
